So, how do you actually access the info? I've got you covered:
- Go to your Reel.
- Tap the ... on the bottom left.
- Tap 'View Insights.'
You can also access your insights via 'Reach' on your general insights.
What kind of Insights do they provide?
When you tap to view your insights, you'll see two different sections: Discovery & Interactions.
Discovery provides the number of accounts you've reached and how many individual plays it's garnered. Think of it like the traditional reach and impressions you'd see on a normal post. These stats are important because they tell you whether or not your audience rewatches your videos or if they're just one and done. You want the type of content that creates rewatches.
Under Interactions, you'll find likes, comments, shares, and saves -- of the stats we've come to know and love. The new part is being able to see your shares and saves. If you ever wanted a barometer of the value you're adding to Instagram, this is it. These shares and saves a great indication of what type of content your audience either entertained by or see as a value-added.
These initial Reels insights may not seem totally in-depth just yet, but they're definitely a better indicator of what your audience wants to see more of.
What's one reel you've posted that has surprisingly been a shining star?
